Maximize your time at the museum and choose between the option of either a small group guided tour or a private tour of all the most popular galleries with an expert guide. Alternatively, you can explore the museum galleries on your own after an initial 30-minute museum orientation session.

If there is a specific area you are excited to visit in the museum, please ask your guide and they will happily try to accommodate. The best part is that you are welcome to stay and spend the rest of your day exploring the exhibits until closing.
If that's not enough, you can also visit the museum’s uptown location – The Cloisters – on the same day with your entry ticket. The Met also has special extended hours on Friday or Saturday evening, and you are invited to join then for a quieter, exclusive experience.
Ticket Types:
Pre-Orientation and Self-Guided Tour: This option includes a 30-minute orientation of the museum by an expert tour guide + entry to the museum to explore on your own.
Small Group Guided Tour: This option includes a 2-hour small group guided tour of the museum by an expert tour guide + entry to the museum to explore on your own.
Museum Hours: Normally open: 10AM – 5PM Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 10AM – 9PM Friday and Saturday (hours are subject to change)
Met Cloisters in uptown are normally open 10AM – 5PM (hours are subject to change)
Both Museum locations are closed on Wednesdays
