Savannah Pirates and Treasure Museum

This one-of-a-kind museum takes you on an immersive journey through the Golden Age of Piracy, blending rich storytelling, interactive technology, and historical artifacts. Located beneath Savannah’s historic City Market, the museum offers a captivating look at pirate life across the globe—and right here in Georgia’s First City. A fun and engaging experience for all ages.

- Interactive Pirate Port – Step into a moonlit dockside scene where merchants, navy captains, and maybe even a pirate compete to recruit you aboard.
- Lift a Silver Bar and see treasure recovered from shipwrecks, including coins, artifacts and emeralds.
- Lifelike Figures – Pose alongside notorious pirates like Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, and Grace O’Malley.
- Savannah’s Own Pirate – Discover the real story of Captain Caleb Davis informed by his actual personal journals.
- The Tavern – Have a drink in our tavern and enjoy live storytelling, sea shanties, and local pirate lore. Non-alcoholic options available. Drink purchase extra.
- Pirate Crime & Punishment – Brave a chilling look into pirate torture, medical practices and punishment (optional bypass available).
- Historic Weaponry & Artifacts – Explore walls lined with authentic 17th- and 18th-century swords, pistols, tools, naval artifacts and more.
Hours of Operation: 10 am – 6 pm.
Final entry is at 5:15 pm.
No tavern service on Sundays.
Museum Tavern: Guests of all ages are allowed in the museum tavern experience during all operating hours, but 21+ photo ID is required at the door to receive a wristband to enable cocktail purchases at the tavern. Non-alcoholic options available. Drink purchase extra.
Children ages 3 and under are free.

Guests requiring handicap access are kindly asked to check in at the American Prohibition Museum booth, located on the ground level above the Savannah Pirates and Treasure Museum. An elevator is available there to access the Savannah Pirates & Treasure Museum.
The Pirate and Treasure Museum is ADA compliant. Mobility aids such as wheelchairs and walkers are welcome throughout the facility. Service animals, as defined by the ADA, are also permitted.
