New Richard Gilder Center:
Natural History Makes a Grand Entrance at the American Museum of Natural History! Share in the excitement of discovery in the American Museum of Natural History's new Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation, where spectacular architecture and fascinating exhibits reveal how all life is connected.
Taking the museum experience to soaring new heights, the Gilder Center showcases:
- The year-round Davis Family Butterfly Vivarium with up to 1,000 free-flying butterflies.
- The Susan and Peter J. Solomon Family Insectarium, a gallery devoted to Earth’s most diverse and abundant animal group and home of the largest leafcutter ant colony in the US.
- Floor-to-ceiling displays of the Museum’s scientific collections spread out across three levels that help us understand the natural world and global cultures.

New Hayden Planetarium Space Show, Encounters in the Milky Way: The Museum’s new Space Show is narrated by Pedro Pascal. Discover the chance encounters that have shaped our place in the universe. Reaching billions of years into the past and peering millions of years into the future, Encounters in the Milky Way is a time-traveling journey about the cosmic movements that shape our galactic neighborhood.
Celebrate the community and science of sport at the Museum! As New York welcomes the FIFA World Cup Tournament this summer, the American Museum of Natural History is kicking off a series of programs and experiences celebrating the science, culture, and shared experience of athletic competition.
For the Win: Objects of Sports Excellence, opening May 15. Included with all admission types.
A new exhibition that showcases the tradition of using precious metals and gemstones to commemorate victory. Visitors can see 70 objects that define athletic greatness across more than 15 sports, including trophies, rings, unique awards, and more through January 3, 2027.
Goal Zone, opening May 18. Included with GA+1 and GA+ALL product types.
Let the whole family team up for kicking, goalkeeping, or free movement and play in this all-ages interactive play-space that tests your soccer skills. On view through September 13, 2026.
World Cup Live at the Museum, starting June 11. Included with all admission types.
Visitors can view all matches starting prior to 5 PM EST on the giant-screen in LeFrak Theater, Cullman Hall of the Universe, and in the Museum's Global Sports Pavilion.
Museum Only: Includes admission to the Museum, Rose Center for Earth and Space, and Richard Gilder Center (Additional tickets are required for the Davis Family Butterfly Vivarium and the Invisible Worlds immersive experience).
Museum + ONE: Includes admission to the Museum, and one special exhibition, which you will select at a Museum ticket desk.
If you wish to add more ticketed exhibitions, you can do so for $10 per exhibition per person
New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut residents: the amount you pay for General Admission to the Museum is up to you and includes access to more than 40 permanent exhibition halls, the Rose Center for Earth and Space, and the Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation. Please note that General Admission does not include ticketed exhibitions, the butterfly vivarium, the giant-screen film, and Hayden Planetarium Space Show.
